1.2 Payment Information

When you use our Services, we automatically collect:

• Device Information: Device ID, model, manufacturer, OS version, hardware model, mobile carrier, and IP address.
• Usage Data: Pages and features accessed, date/time of use, crash reports, and diagnostics.
• Location Data: With your permission, precise or approximate location for location-based features. Disable anytime in device settings.
• Log Data: Server logs including IP addresses, browser type, referring URLs, and activity timestamps.

1.4 Mobile App Permissions

Our mobile application may request the following device permissions:

• Service Delivery: To provide AI-powered translation, manage your account, and fulfill our contractual obligations to you.
• Security & Fraud Prevention: To monitor for fraudulent activity, enforce our terms, and protect users and our platform.
• Service Improvement: To analyze usage patterns, troubleshoot issues, and improve features using aggregated and anonymized data.
• Communications: To send account-related notifications, security alerts, and service updates. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time.
• Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.
• AI Translation Processing: Text you submit for translation is processed by our AI systems. We do not use your submitted text to train our models without explicit consent.

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases under GDPR/UK GDPR:

• Contractual Necessity: Processing required to deliver the Services you have requested.
• Legitimate Interests: Fraud prevention, security, service improvement — where your rights do not override our interests.
• Consent: For optional features such as location access and marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal Obligation: Where processing is required by applicable law.

For Canada, we rely on express or implied consent as applicable, or other lawful bases permitted under PIPEDA.

We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: Trusted third-party vendors (e.g., Stripe for payments, Google Analytics for analytics) under written data processing agreements.
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to a successor entity.

• With Your Consent: We may share information with third parties when you explicitly consent.

We have not sold or shared personal information with third parties for commercial purposes in the preceding 12 months, and we do not intend to do so.

Our core Service uses artificial intelligence for translation. When you submit text for translation:

• Your input text is transmitted securely to our AI processing systems.
• We do not use submitted translation content to train AI models without your explicit consent.
• Submitted content may be temporarily retained for quality assurance and security monitoring.
• We implement technical safeguards to protect text data in transit and at rest.

We and our third-party partners use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to maintain session security, remember preferences, and analyze usage.

6.1 Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, including the Demographics and Interests Reporting feature. To opt out:

6.2 Meta Pixel / SDK

If you access our Services through or in connection with Meta platforms, we may use the Meta Pixel or Meta SDK to measure advertising effectiveness. This information is subject to Meta's Data Policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy.

6.3 Do Not Track

We do not currently respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals because no uniform industry standard has been established. We will update this policy if a recognized standard is adopted. California law requires us to disclose this.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our Services. When you delete your account:

• Your personal data is deleted or anonymized from active systems within 30 days.
• Backup copies may be retained for up to 90 days before permanent deletion.
• We may retain certain data longer where required by law (e.g., financial records, fraud logs).

You may request deletion of your data at any time via translait.ai/data-request.

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and regular security assessments.

Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. Users must be at least 18 years of age, or a parent/guardian must provide consent for the minor's use of the Services.

California residents have the following rights:

• Right to limit use of sensitive personal information.
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. California "Shine the Light": We have not made disclosures to third parties for direct marketing purposes.

10.4 Other US State Residents

Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Utah, and other states with applicable privacy laws have rights including access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out of targeted advertising. Submit requests at translait.ai/data-request.

10.5 Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed from active databases, subject to legal retention requirements.

Translait LLC is based in the United States. If you access our Services from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

For transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to the US, we rely on appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

We process personal information in compliance with Australia's Privacy Act 1988 and New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020. You have the right to access and correct your personal information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through prominent in-app notices or email notification. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document indicates when the most recent changes were made.

Your continued use of the Services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. If you do not agree with the changes, you may discontinue use and request deletion of your data.
